These lesson plans are designed to bring my books into your classrooms through meaningful read-a-louds, literacy instruction, creative activities, and social-emotional learning. Each plan includes a timed lesson sequence, discussion prompts, printable student worksheets, assessment criteria, and differentiation strategies.

The lessons are aligned broadly to the Pennsylvania Core Standards for English Language Arts and, where appropriate, Pennsylvania's early learning standards for social-emotional development. Pennsylvania identifies reading, writing, speaking, and listening as essential areas of ELA instruction.

Teachers should use the actual book text during the read-aloud and adjust text-specific questions to match each edition.
